What no Phil Harrison....he was robbed.
I have no idea what your saying..... though i did catch.. red fraction better than Halo 1 ??? Speechless.
My brother picked up 5 from Argos the other day having ordered them on 5 seperate accounts.... looks like he will make a tidy profit over the next week.... can't see the interest in them myself...sports in fun when your with people but thats about it.
As much as i like uncharted it owes a hell of a lot to tomb raider.
And although the tombraider games have been riding on the wave of the first one for many years hopefully the new game for this generation (360/ps3) will put Lara back in the game. After all Drake is some serious competition so Eidos will have to up there game.
I think MGS will shift a good number of PS3's but think there real true killer app ( the one that will really shift) is the new Gran Tursismo.
I know plenty of people who will buy a pS3 for this but not so much Metal Gear. Don't get me wrong MGS looks great and i will be getting it, i just think GT stands more chance with the mass market.
Will MGS sell a million in a day. I don't think so, a week maybe and it will be a huge seller over time i doubt it will eclispe Halo3 in sales...
Looks like the 360 is still ahead software wise against the ps3 in the uk.
Where i work 15 people have 360s and only two PS3's, one of which is me. I do feel like this will even out somewhat next year there.
Xbox live already has static ads advertising forthcoming games and movie downloads so having them in video format isnt much of a difference. I personnaly don't mind them as its good to know the release dates of forthcoming releases. None of this coming out in America on the 15th and europe a few weeks later rubbish.
This looks pretty good. Not sure if it will hold my interest though once ive got over the pretty graphics....my girl will probably like it though. Either way Kudos to Sony for trying some different.
Tomb-raider 1 was on the ps1 and sega saturn if i remeber rightly and it was groundbreaking for the time. Imquite looking forward to the new one now.
If i remember rightly work started on Tombraider 8 just after legend was finished and its not due out until Christmas 08. Crystal Dynamics said this would be the first tombraider made specifically for Xbox360 and PS3 unlike 'Legend' in which Ps2 was the lead format.
So, im guessing the engine is probably new. Even if it isnt 'Legend' did look very nice on the 360.
I finished this on the 360 bout a month ago and although its a good game it does show its age abit in the graphic department. The physics are still good though. The vechile sections are quite poor but you get a lot of game for your buck.
I expect they will release it in nov 08 to get maximum sales for the Christmas period. Its looking good. I hope they take the 'Theatre' idea from Halo3 as it would be cool for Killzone.
Reviews seem all over the place lately. I mean look at Edge giving 'Bladestorm' 8 out of 10...whats that all about.
Having played Mass Effect i admit it does have some problems though nothing that ruins the game. Its because the game exceeds in so many areas that these niggles can be overlooked. Is COD4 a rubbish game because of the infinite enemies with unlimited grenades and terrible A.I?....No. Its still a good game because the good outshines the bad. Same goes for Mass Effect.
Untilgames start really selling on PS3 you really couldn't blame developers for this. If your only going to sell 50,000 copies of your game is it worth the expense and time of porting it.
Considering it was only released on Friday in Europe i think its a bit early to say it bombed. I think it went in at number 2or something.
Im playing through it now and i have to say even though i have COD4,HALO3,Assasins creed, bioshock and Uncharted, Mass effect is my favorite. My game of the year.
I enjoyed COD4 but there were a few niggles that annoyed me. Veteran was badly realised. The enemy seemed to have an endless supply of grenades and an endless amount of soilders so it the end it became less of a shooter and more of a run to the checkpoint. And the team A.i seemed to go to pot. There were times when one of my team was in a room standing next to a enemy and they looked like they were having a chat.
The graphices, sound and atmosphere were top notch though and it is a goo...
This is common practice. Consoles take years to develop, i remeber Sony saying they were starting work on the PS4 the week Ps3 was launched. Launching a console isnt like making a sandwich, it takes years.
I still find it cheaper and easier to buy a console every 5 years than to upgrade my pc every 3 years.
Also Pc gaming sales are pretty dire compared to console games. Just look at any top 40 chart....mostly console games.
Pc's used to be way ahead of consoles but the gap seems to be closing all the while.
Consoles are just easier, more cost effective, more fun and much cooler, i will admit to loving my 360 or a Ps3 at work and no one bats an eyelid....same your a pc gamer...
A lot of my collegues at work like me are all in our 30s and are still avid gamers. We often meet up online for matches and it pretty much dominates the discussion around the water cooler.
A few ot the older people (40s+) say its a waste of time in the evenings , but its better than watching the mind numbing soaps and reality tv shows that dominate the airwaves.
If i remeber rightly the Ps3 didn't sell out last Christmans they were stuck on the shelves....this man is an idiot.
